Shared Features: Dashboard Overview

Dashboards are used to track key data points relevant to a business, department or specific process. Through the use of graphs, lists and tables, Dashboards simplify complex data sets to provide users with at-a-glance awareness of current performance. Widgets are used to describe the variety of different items that can be added to a Dashboard. Widgets display information that enables a user to perform a function or access a set of information and can be edited or filtered to only display certain information.

The Dashboard and Widgets functionality is available in several modules of Lucidity Software including:

  • Lucidity Incident
  • Lucidity InForm
  • Lucidity Competency
  • Lucidity Risk

PERMISSIONS

Permissions for administrators for all Lucidity modules are set via Lucidity Access and are generally configured by the System Administrator. A typical set of Permissions for Actions would be:

USER LEVELVIEW DASHBOARDSCREATE OWN DASHBOARDSMANAGE OWN DASHBOARDS AND WIDGETSCREATE DASHBOARD TEMPLATESMANAGE DASHBOARD TEMPLATES
Dashboard Read-Only Widgets UserY

Dashboard Widgets UserYYY

Dashboard Template ManagerYYYYY

...

The first time the Dashboard tab is accessedopened in a Module, a Dashboard Wizard appears prompting the user to select a Dashboard from the available Templates.  These Templates are created by Administrators or a user with the necessary permissions.  These Templates are then copied by people to create their very own Dashboards. The available Templates varies dependent on the module being accessed and Templates created by administrators. Once the Dashboard is created, it can be edited to display results relative to that user.  Making changes to the Dashboard, will not alter in any way the Template the Dashboard was copied from.

If there are no Templates created and the user has yet to add a Dashboard, the user will be prompted to add a new Dashboard when they open the Dashboard tab.  A user, with the necessary permissions, can create their own Dashboard without the use of a Template and add the Widgets they need.

The table below lists the default Widgets included in the default Dashboard Templates as well the optional Widgets which can be addedWidgets available to add to a Dashboard.  These are the very same Widgets an Administrator will use to create the Templates. Refer to the Widget descriptions within the system for a detailed explanation.
