I have a published form I need to edit before anyone else completes it. What is the best way to manage this?
Once a form is published, the only way to ensure no one else completes it is to archive it. Even when it is in a status of unpublished, users can still complete the form, it just won't include new updates.
There are 2 options to manage updating a pre-published form and ensuring it isn't completed by anyone else:
Archive the form whilst not updating it. This ensures it is not available to end users. It will need to be unarchived while editing but in the short window it's available it's unlikely any users will complete it. Archive the form once finished editing until it's ready for publishing.
Copy the form. Archive the old version (V1) and name the new version V2. V2 will be in a draft status until published and therefore unavailable to all users.
I need the form to be approved before I complete the next section. How can I do this?
The form Approval field is designed for processing workflows and approvals. Please see the Approval Workflows page in this Support Portal.
Are there limits with large form designs?
Very large form designs can become very processing intensive and because of handheld hardware constraints, the App performance can start to slow.
This is a result of the form template being stored on the handset within the Lucidity App for offline use, and the ability of some mobile hardware to retrieve, manage and transmit the form. Lower specification Android hardware is particularly susceptible.
Our recommendation is to limit the number of fields within a form to 100, with no more than 70 of those fields conditional. Based on testing and experience, forms up to this size will work correctly on a broad range of handsets including low-specification Android devices. Lucidity also recommends that if it is necessary to exceed 100 fields then do not mark the form as 'Mobile enabled'. This prevents the form from being available in the Lucidity App, but it is still available for use via a web browser, which you can view on a mobile device.
