BI reporting and database access

In order to facilitate integration with your organisation’s analytical tools (i.e. PowerBI), we offer a connection to a read-only reporting instance of your organisation’s Lucidity Software database. The database engine you’ll be connecting to is MySQL.

Because it is a mirror of your production database on Amazon AWS in Sydney:

  • The database you access is real time.

  • It is continually kept up to date with production-live database schema and content changes.

  • Your team can execute custom SQL queries

Security

Once the setup has been completed from Lucidity you will receive the required connection credentials and information on how to connect.

The security of your database access is managed in several ways:

  • Username and password credentials

  • Enforced SSL (secure socket layer) connection

  • AWS security groups - Access only granted to specific IP addresses (limited to a maximum of 10 addresses per client)

  • Maximum query execution time is limited to 180 seconds

Connected applications

A real-time feed of your organisations data can be accessed from different applications. Business Intelligence tools and middleware integrations are the most common ways to analyse the data.

Software applications include, but are not limited to:

  • Microsoft Power BI

  • Tableau

  • Amazon QuickSight

Due to the range of third party tools available, while Lucidity can offer support for your BI solution we may not necessarily have expertise in your chosen environment. Please see our Service Overview page for more information about our Professional Services.

If you wish to get a read-only instance of your database please log a ticket with support@luciditysoftware.com.au and our sales team will provide a quote for this.
